What to Expect at Extreme Waterparks
Some of the water slides and water rides that are available in these parks will drop you almost vertically, from six to eight stories high! There are water rides that will spin you in a tornado-like flume, shoot you out of a cannon, and splash you back into the water. How is that for an exhilarating experience?
Other water rides that are exciting and different are cable operated waterskiing, wake boarding, and tubing. There are height requirements for the more extreme rides, so if your little ones don't meet the requirements, they must be accompanied by an adult. There is still a family atmosphere, but the reason these parks get the crowds they do is because of their thrilling rides.
These extreme water parks attract a lot of people each day, so get there early! The lines for the slides move along, especially earlier in the day.
Wild Rivers - Irvinie, California
The Abyss which is a twisting and turning water slide that drops you into complete darkness, is one of the most popular rides that Wild Rivers Waterpark has to offer. Another interesting attraction is the Sweitzer Falls, which basically simulates riding a barrel down the Niagra Falls. This water park also has a lot of slides and water fun for the kiddies, so there's something for everyone.
Cultus Lake Water Park - British Columbia, Canada
The Cultus Lake WaterPark in British Columbia isn't very big, but they have some pretty interesting rides. One of the more extreme rides is called the Valley of Fear, which is a free fall tube ride that drops you 45 feet in this half pipe of water fun. And, another water slide drops you from 72 feet high!
Splashin' Safari - Santa Claus, Indiana
At Splashin' Safari, you can race with other people to see who hits the bottom of the slide first. It features ten racing slides, which drop you from five stories! They also have the Zoombabwe, which claims to be the world's tallest enclosed water slide. There are also campgrounds located near by if you want to stay overnight with your family.
Wet n' Wild - Orlando, Florida
If you feel like being pulled by a cable while waterskiing, wake boarding, or tubing, then this is the place to be! There is also a water slide called The Bomb Bay, which drops you through a trap door down an almost vertical 76 foot drop. Wet ‘n Wild has plenty of different events going on throughout the year such as Cub Scout and Girl Scout days.
No matter when you decide to visit, find a cheap Orlando hotel near Wet n Wild, so you won't have to travel far.

I guess I'm spoiled because I grew up in Orlando, and I've been to Wet N Wild tons of times, and used to work at Blizzard Beach in Disney. They're fun....but I always thought there was better ones. To see them BOTH on the top five is kind of disheartening. I just watched a show on the travel channel about water parks and saw a couple I would like to try one day.
Ive been 2 Wet'n Wild abunch of times and I love it.I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to blizzard beach and the ride they said was called summit plummet

I Loooooove Waterparks!!!! I've been to wet & wild & Blizzard Beach numerous times and plan to go summer of 2010 and take my 3 grandkids. I am 60 yrs old & still Love them.
I went to number 5 for the first time on the list last month - and it was AWESOME! (I did Summit Plummet 3 times and it was thrilling!) I am a waterpark freak, as well as a amusement/theme park freak!

Holy Crap I was only 10 years old when I went on Slusher Gusher at Blizzard Beach. And now I am 12 years old and I am IN LOVE with theme parks and waterparks. I just wish that I get to go to Wet n Wild to ride Bomb bay and der stuka that is like my Dream!!!!!

None of the Dells waterparks made the list? Anyhow, those who love Waterparks, you need to visit the Wisconsin Dells area. There are more acres of waterparks here than the rest of the world combined. You could spend two weeks and still not have enough time to get on all the water rides at all of the parks.

Splashin safari is an AWSOME park. It had expanded so much, great price, free drinks and sunscreen. everyone should go there at least once, you will love it!!!
