Hydropolis - The Ultimate Underwater Hotel

A new trend is sweeping the vacation world. That trend is underwater tourism. While it may sound like a sci-fi fantasy, it is very much a reality in many parts of the world. Small underwater resorts and inns are already in operation in a few areas of the world, with more elaborate underwater resorts planned in the near future. One of those resorts is the Hydropolis Underwater Hotel and Resort. The resort is located 66 feet beneath the Persian Gulf, situated just off the coast of Dubai. In addition to the initial resort in Dubai, a number of other sister projects are also in the works. These resort projects, under development by Crescent Hydropolis Holdings, include an underwater resort off the coast of China.

The resort will feature Plexiglas walls and dome ceilings that are bubble shaped. This unique and innovative design will provide guests with the ability to get up close and personal with the variety of fish and sea creatures that make their home in the area. The resort is divided into three different sections. These sections include a land station, a connecting tunnel and more than two hundred suites within a leisure complex.

Guests of the resort will be welcomed on the land station before being escorted to the connecting tunnel where they will be safely transported to the hotel lobby. All in all, the resort spans an area covering approximately 260 hectares. That is approximately the size of Hyde's Park in London.

In addition to the resort's suites, there will also be a number of other amenities as well. They include hydrotherapy and spa facilities as well as ballrooms with the ability to accommodate hundreds of guests at one time. In addition, the resort will offer nightclubs, restaurants and king's suites which are designed with pure luxury in mind. Once guests have arrived at the bottom of the Persian Gulf, they will be offered all of the standard amenities one might expect from a five-star resort and then some.

Guests booking their vacation at Hydropolis will arrive at the land station, which is located on Jumeirah Beach on Dubai. At the land station, guests will be treated to a cinematic presentation regarding the evolution of architecture underwater as well as information on local sea life. In addition to providing presentations to guests, the land station will also host a conference center as well as research labs dedicated to marine biology research.

Once guests have viewed the presentation they will be taken aboard an automatic, silent train down the 515 metre long tunnel to the actual hotel site. Each of the guest suites actually resides on the floor of the Persian Gulf; however, the unique design of the resort will allow the domes of the concert auditorium and ballroom to clear the surface of the water. The roof of the ballroom will be retractable and allow guests the opportunity to enjoy events al fresco as well as the spectacular panoramic view of the Dubai coastline.

While the resort itself is truly spectacular, the guest suites are to be opulence at its best. Styled as ocean villas, the suites will be constructed in the shape of transparent bubbles. Each of the suites will be decorated with the finest woods, leathers and fabrics; designed in a style that will allow guests to feel as though they are one with the sea. In addition to the world-class décor, each suite will also feature biodynamic lighting. This innovative lighting actually has the ability to adjust to the time and moods of the day automatically.

A number of opulent amenities will be available to guests of Hydropolis. The amenities begin with a cosmetic surgery center that will be situated on the land station of the resort. Guests will be able to benefit from a variety of different cosmetic surgery treatments. The resort will also offer a Roman-style spa, complete with wellness techniques and facilities. Along with the spa and variety of shops and restaurants, Hydropolis will also offer a library, museum and prayer room.

Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy the pristine beaches that surround the outer fringes of the resort complex. Whether guests choose to simply relax on the beach of this Dubai hotel and enjoy the pleasant weather for which is well known for or they desire to take a snorkeling trip above their own suite, there are plenty of ways to relax.
